Candidates for this year’s election
Councillors:
AETTNL Members:
Please consider this letter as my self-nomination for a position on the AETTNL Council for the 2025/26 year.
Since my initial membership as a student in 2019 and later as a Certified Member in 2023, I have been a strong and proud advocate for our association. I have taken every opportunity possible to promote and educate the public and prospective members alike on the engineering technology field and the many opportunities available in this constantly changing industry. As a member of the younger demographic in our membership, I feel this may be an excellent opportunity to get involved and help shape the way forward for our organization, our membership, and the future of the profession.
Having spent a large portion of my career in private industry, and now working within the provincial government, it can be recognized that technologists and technicians are becoming more heavily relied on in all corners of the industry. I would love to be a part of the voice that works to advocate for our profession, promote our membership’s continued growth, and ensure that technology professionals receive the recognition they deserve while preserving the interests of industry partners, the AETTNL membership, and the public.
I appreciate your time reading this and any consideration given to my self-nomination.
Kind regards,
Gregory Hulan, BTech, P.Tech
AETTNL Members,
Please accept this letter as my intention to run for one of the open seats on Council.
I am a graduate of the Architectural Engineering Technology program and a Professional Engineering Technologist (P.Tech). For over ten years, I have worked as a Project Manager with Allied Construction Management, where I have overseen major projects including the Canopy Growth Production Facility, the One Churchill Park Apartment Building, and the redevelopment of the former Costco building into a healthcare facility. My background spans project planning, scheduling, and contract management on complex healthcare and residential developments, with a focus on implementing the latest technologies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and project outcomes.
In addition to my professional work, I have been actively involved in workforce development through my partnership with the Association for New Canadians. Over the past three years, I have helped design and deliver the Build Your Future construction trades training program, which has trained and placed hundreds of newcomers into the local construction industry. This initiative reflects my commitment to strengthening our profession while supporting the next generation of technicians and technologists.
I believe this combination of project experience, leadership, and commitment to outreach would allow me to contribute meaningfully to Council. I would welcome the opportunity to serve our membership and to help advance the goals of AETTNL.
Sincerely,
John Sheppard, P.Tech (Arch.)

Dear AETTNL Members,
I would like to be considered during the upcoming election for the position of Councillor.
I have been a certified member of the Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Newfoundland and Labrador since 1987. I have spent my career in multidisciplinary Project Management, having spent 36 years within the federal government environment.
I believe my skills and experience would align well with AETTNL, and I am keen to share my expertise, learn about other aspects of the profession and the Association’s structure, and gain a wealth of information, give back and influence the future of the profession.
Regards,
Jackie Rodway CET, PMP
