We are recruiting a Service Technologist, to travel to customer sites to inspect, service, trouble shoot, and repair electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems. The incumbent will be resourceful and accountable. In order to provide excellent customer service, our technician will use all possible resources to resolve technical problems, efficiently. The role requires the ability to work independently and communicate well with our team. The majority of the field work is completed locally however; travel is required on occasion, including offshore.

Graduate of Post Secondary Electronics; Instrumentation or HVAC program
Technical training and/or service work in other areas such as building automation; fire and life safety; and/or process control may be considered an asset.
Eligibility for AETTNL registration would be an asset
Must possess a clean driver’s abstract
Demonstrate sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected
Maintain accurate service records
Able to assume responsibility and handle multiple tasks, within given timelines
Maintenance and repair of confined space entry equipment and air quality monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain client systems on a ongoing basis and be able to foresee possible issues and areas for improvements.
Inspect, test, adjust and evaluation of incoming electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure conformance with product specifications and tolerances.
Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
Work closely with electrical contractors and HVAC technicians in service and troubleshooting
Calibration, repair and trouble shooting of portable/fixed gas detection equipment.
Maintenance and repair of confined space entry equipment, Indoor Air Quality equipment and water instrumentation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision along with prioritizing workload.
Ability to read, comprehend drawings, manuals, schematics etc.
Ability to assess and proven quotes based on client needs or a site and provide a recommendation or appropriate solution.
Ability to effectively estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service – be able to lay out a design
Train customers’ staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment- Brief overview.
Knowledge and ability to work with and modify wiring, conduit and circuits as needed.
Proper punctuation and report making skills. Position requires documenting results in the field and in shop. Position requires ability to generate reports and certificates.
Ability to work in various environments. Some applications include: warehouses, labs, marine vessels, office environments, etc. Since many of the work areas differ, position involves working outside in exposed elements, loud areas, freezers, dark and tight area, working at heights safely and effectively
Ability to visually describe situations to other techs and support
Some travel required
Position requires being on call after normal hours on a rotating schedule.
