The Facilities Manager will oversee a multi-trade work force and assist in the planning/scheduling of preventive maintenance, demand maintenance and special projects at the facility. This position is responsible for all aspects of the facility’s building architectural, mechanical, ventilation and electrical systems with the end goal of providing a safe/comfortable environment for patients/residents/clients, staff and visitors.
Mechanical Technology Diploma from an accredited institution is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering or a related field of study preferred.
Third class power engineering ticket is preferred.
Where applicable, Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Technologist (P Tech) designations are preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience within the last five (5) in an Infrastructure Support Management role preferably in a health care environment.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of building codes, energy management concepts and maintenance management systems along with the ability to interpret layouts/assembly diagrams and schematics.
Knowledge of project management systems and practices.
Demonstrated ability leading multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of assigned projects and programs within specified timeframes and budgets.
Demonstrated ability to administer budgets and utilize funds allocated in accordance with prescribed policies and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff in a progressive/positive manner ideally in a unionized environment.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
