Environmental Coordinator (Temporary)

We are looking for an energetic and eager entry level environmental professional to join our team. Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental Coordinator will assist in the maintenance of Environmental Management Systems consistent with the ISO 14001 standard, or similar standard adopted by Nalcor Energy. As the Environmental Coordinator, you will be responsible to provide administrative support to the Environment and Sustainability Department staff related to travel arrangements, coordination of meetings, preparation of spreadsheets and presentations, and filing of departmental. Additionally, you will assist with and coordinate the implementation of various environmental programs such as the stakeholder tracking, reviewing legislation and environmental awareness.
You will work in accordance with all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and strive to eliminate any potential risk which could result in personal injury or occupational illness.
You have graduated from a three year Environmental Technology or Engineering Technology Program from a recognized post-secondary institution. Completion of university courses in the natural sciences would be an asset. Experience in environmental management areas such as: environmental legislation, implementing environmental management systems and environmental auditing processes is preferred. Knowledge of environmental legislation, industry standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
