The Engineering Projects Coordinator is a position that utilizes acquired knowledge of building instrumentation and automation, HVAC systems, building control systems as well as related codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures. This position performs site visits to measure floor spaces and compare existing conditions in order to verify, or otherwise develop using Autocad, new “As Built” drawings to ensure master building drawings are current and in compliance with all necessary code requirements. The Coordinator compiles a comprehensive database of building equipment, inclusive of all technical requirements and information, establishes preventive maintenance procedures and schedules and performs computerized test runs on various equipment maintenance procedures, in order to deliver a new operational Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) system. Works closely with and under direction of the Regional Facility Support Coordinator. Also interacts and communicates frequently with the Facility Management group. Other related duties as required.

Work may occasionally require lifting of supplies, tools, etc. and result in constant sitting in an office with occasional standing, walking and driving.
Visual concentration is a constant requirement while entering data/working with spreadsheets, utilizing computer software, preparing drawings and when driving.
Graduation from approved/recognized three-year Engineering Technology Program in the Mechanical or Electrical disciplines is required, or, graduation from a three year Architectural Technology program may be considered.
Demonstrated strong computer skills and the ability prepare spreadsheets and maintain databases.
Experience using AutoCad to create basic drawings is required.
Basic knowledge of building equipment.
Knowledge of building instrumentation and building automation systems.
Knowledge of building Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems.
Knowledge of electrical and or mechanical systems used in institutional building construction and operation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprint and/or Cad drawings.
Demonstrated time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet critical timelines within budget.
Demonstrated advanced communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to recognize hazards and to work safely around building equipment.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Use of a private vehicle and class V driver’s license is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
